First Friday Films featuring Anne Labovitz and Bill Gamble
When: Fri, February 1, 7:00pm – 7:30pm
Where: MMAA Project Space, 332 N. Robert Street (corner of 4th and Robert streets) St. Paul, MN 55101
There have been plenty of husband-and-wife teams in the history of art—some successful, others ending in divorce. In a nod to Valentine’s Day, the February edition of First Friday Films will feature a St. Paul couple who have happily and inspiringly collaborated on several artistic projects: Anne Labovitz and Bill Gamble. Their latest venture, short films that explore the materiality of paint, is the result of a unique process of collaborative conversation. Anne sends Bill imagery, which he scores with original music and then sends back to Anne. She “replies” with additional footage, and so forth.
